Danville, Virginia is a semi-rural city located in the Piedmont region of south-central Virginia. Danville has all the qualities of small-town charm as well as the assets of a city with a variety of historical, cultural, educational and recreational opportunities. The area, about one-hour drive time from the Blue Ridge Parkway and less than four hours from the beach, has a mild year-round climate with typical southern summers and rare snowfall in the winter months.

Situated on the banks of the Dan River, Danville exceeds expectations, with over 680 acres of parks and trails. Local attractions include the Carrington Pavilion, The Danville Science Center, Danville Museum of Fine Arts & History, AAF Tank Museum, The Institute for Advanced Learning and Research, the Community Market at the Crossing of the Dan, Danville Otterbots, Virginia International Raceway, and Martinsville Speedway. Danville, VA is enjoying an economic rebirth from a long tradition of agriculture and manufacturing with expanding higher educational institutes, industry, and internet-based businesses. Its 19th century riverfront warehouses are part of the River District development project and include loft residences, restaurants, and shops.
